Sunday school classes begin at 9:45am each Sunday and meet until Sunday Service begins at 11:00am. Our Sunday School classes are Journey Groups that consist or adults choosing to join together for the journies of our life; our every day journey through family, friends, jos, and world situations; and our spiritual journey as we work to become more Christ-like. If you're not currently attending a Sunday School class, we encourage you to give one a try! If you are not sure which one to try see below and if you still can't decide then we will be glad to help you find the one that feels right for you! Each group is special and unique! Remember you do not have to make this journey alone! Group: GAP Teacher: Joe Jurosek A group that consists of both single adults with or without children, along with couples that have young/school-age kids. We share, discuss, laugh and pray all while studying Gods word. GAP stands for "God's good, acceptable, and perfect will (Romans 12:1). We study Christian literature like C.S. Lewis and other various heroes of the faith in the past several centuries.
Teacher: Ren Young Ren class focuses on the practical application of biblical principles using Lifeway quarterly materials. Class members have access to learner's guides which can allow for daily study and preparation for each time the group meets. The majority of the class is made up of adults with school-age children, but there is a wide range of ages overall, and all are welcome. Through the discussion format, there are a lot of chances for interaction and ministry, which hopefully carries over into a sense of community, not just a once-a-week meeting. Their strong desire is to encourage spiritual growth, consistency, and accountability in the areas of life that really matter.
Teacher: Michael Sides This group is a round-table discussion class, heavy on the discussion. Although the majority of members are empty-nest couples, the group also includes parents of junior high students, adults with no children, and single adults. Mike reports that there's a wide range of backgrounds in the room, which makes the group very interesting and fun. The group is currently working on a church library project. Group: J.O.Y. Teacher: Roberta Campbell This group's name is not just an attitude description. The letters stand for Just Over Youth (or maybe it's Just Older Youth), which for some of those guys is pretty accurate! Roberta says this group uses Lifeway Adult Explore the Bible Series literature, which is an 8-year cycle through the Bible that began in Fall 2007. Each quarter's studies switch between Old and New Testament literature, and big print books are available. This group is co-ed and represents a wide range of experiences. The class is filled with friendly, welcoming people and comprised mainly of senior citizens. This group provides opportunity for discussion and enjoys monthly social activities. Their focus is learning and doing God's work. |
